About the Event
Email circulated 24 August 2021 :
Good evening all
We do hope you and your horses are well.
We’re sure it won’t come as a surprise, but sadly we have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Quadrille competition on 2nd October.
BRC Area 6 announced the Arena Eventing Qualifier on the same day at Wellington EC and, as a result, we have ‘lost’ 3 members to this competition. Carolyn has qualified for the individual D2M Championships (so exciting, congratulations Carolyn) so that is another combination that may not be available to join the Quad Squad. It is now short notice to get intensive training completed and with riders on holiday and horses busy BE, BS and BD we are struggling.
Debs Grigg and myself have been working hard over the two last week to find a solution but we have hit a blank, hence this email.
I have contacted BRC Head Office regarding our pre-entry and they are looking into the refund. I have said we would be very interested in competing next year. It will soon come around!
In the meantime, we have come up with some QuadSquad fun and hope you would like to join us for this :
We will organise training once a month to build up the routine and slowly introduce the horses (and riders) to riding as a 4. As there are a few who would like to try Quadrille, we will also do some drill riding (thank you Catarina for the suggestion) where we can ride with more than 4 in the arena but still have lots of fun training for the moves.
Training will be in the indoor arena at Manor Farm, Kingsey. It is warm and dry and has lighting for the Winter months plus a sound system. We will do our best to accommodate all date availability and we will circulate initial dates in the next week or so. Susie and Hayley will be our trainers.
We have also spoken to Deborah Sanders of Amersham Dressage at Fullers Hill Farm and she has kindly agreed, when ready, we can ride the final routine HC at their monthly BD competitions to get experience in front of a BD music judge. Tamsin has also said we can use her 60 x 20 arena at Radnage House Stables for competition practice whenever it is set up.
We are sorry this didn’t work out for 2021 but let’s have some fun over the next few months and be raring to go for the next comp.
With our best wishes
Rosie, Debs & Anna, Carole and Zoe
