MASSAGE TECHNIQUES FOR THE HORSE OWNER

Many of you will know NRC Member Jo Rose and her lovely horse, Dan. Jo is a RAMP registered equine musculoskeletal therapist and teacher and she has kindly offered us a morning clinic at Rosie's house with training in equine massage therapy. The session will run as follows :

Format: 2 hour session, largely practical based and will cover the following topics:

- Indications of stiffness and discomfort in behaviour and movement.

- Hands on assessment for areas of tension and discomfort.

- Simple massage strokes to help alleviate muscular tension

- Simple stretches to release tension

Horses will be provided along with refreshments.

Jo has almost 20 years experience in equine therapy, and prior to that was a BHS intermediate trainer in Sussex. She runs regular training courses for those who want to qualify in animal therapies and for those already qualified, but want to update or add to their skills.
