About the Event
EMAIL SENT TO ALL ENTRANTS Friday 3 May 2024 @ 19.10
Dear Trail & Pleasure Riders,
Sadly, this awful weather has made it impossible to go ahead with the Charity Bluebell Ride on Sunday, 5 May 2024.
Today I met up with the Landowner to inspect the parking field, access lane and route. There is a lot of standing water that is unlikely to drain sufficiently to make the access lane safe and she understandably does not want the field cut up in these wet conditions nor transport stuck in the field needing a tow.
She can accommodate us if we reschedule to next Sunday, 12th May 2024 and has kindly offered to arrange for some hard standing to be available for lorry parking.
Could you please let me know by return you have :
1.  received this email
2.  whether you are able to join us for the postponed date of Sunday 12 May?
3.  If unable to do so, would you like a refund of your entry fee or would you like it to be passed to the Air Ambulance Charity as a donation?
I do hope you can come as the weather forecast is more favourable, there will still be cakes and fun to be had!
My apologies again for the short notice and change in date. Surely, this weather must improve soon....... Best wishes,
Janet Bayley

THE RIDE
Janet Bayley is once again organising a fantastic charity trail ride for NRC. Two Chiltern woodland rides are available with spectacular views of the South Berkshire Downs. The scenery is especially beautiful this time of the year with the bluebells in full bloom!
There are two routes to choose from: a marked, 5.5 mile pleasure ride or an 8.5 mile competitive ride  will be run as a competitive /timed ride which will require map reading. Both rides will gain you Sommerhalder points.  Riders usually ride in pairs. If you are coming alone, do let us know and we will try and partner you up.
This ride is organised in aid of Air Ambulance and in memory of Diana Younger. Our grateful thanks to Rachel Wallis, the landowner, for hosting us.Â
Start time: 10.00am onwards.
Riders to be 18 years and over
Cost: £22 for NRC members. £27 for BHS Gold members and riders of other affiliated Riding Clubs (max of 30 places available so book in early).
Please note : this ride is open to NRC members, members of other affiliated RCs and BHS Gold or Harry Hall . No under 18s.
'Super-Alan' the photographer will be there and marshalls along the route (thank you to all our volunteers).
